Rocky has outlined a dark pool for institutions and large traders on Canton. The planned feature is designed to keep orders out of the public order book while using public-market pricing as a reference.
The model combines hidden orders with execution at the public market midpoint. Rather than advertising a large order on an open book, participants would trade through a system built to limit how much information their orders reveal.
Settlement would take place on Canton. The linked parts of a transaction are designed to complete together or not complete, rather than leaving one side settled on its own.
Rocky's broader trading architecture separates order matching from Canton settlement. Its documentation describes connected asset movements and transaction data shared only with the parties required for each workflow.
The goal is to reduce information leakage, price slippage and the risk of other traders acting ahead of an order. These are aims of the design, not guarantees that trading risks will disappear.
The feature is not officially open. Rocky has specifically asked users not to place trades through it yet, and its October 4 preview does not provide a launch date.
