Canton Coin is now available on SoFi Crypto, giving customers another way to buy, sell and hold CC through the SoFi app.
CC is one of 11 recent additions to the service, alongside assets including Polkadot, Morpho and Ondo. The expansion takes SoFi Crypto’s supported range to 40 digital assets. The additions were made during the previous week and announced on October 6.
For Canton, the listing puts its native token inside an established consumer finance app. Customers with access to SoFi Crypto can manage a CC holding through the same app used for SoFi’s other financial products.
SoFi already has a connection to Canton’s development. It participated in Digital Asset’s $355 million funding round announced in June, led by a16z crypto. Digital Asset created Canton, and the funding supports its work with financial institutions and developers building on the network.
CC pays for use of Canton’s shared public infrastructure. Network fees are burned, while application providers, users and infrastructure operators can earn coins for their contributions. The SoFi addition expands the places where customers can purchase the token.
SoFi’s crypto trading fees depend on a customer’s monthly buy-and-sell volume. The applicable rate appears on the order review screen before a trade is confirmed.
SoFi Crypto is offered by SoFi Bank, N.A. Crypto holdings are not bank deposits and are not covered by FDIC or SIPC insurance.
