Splice 0.9.0 is ready for deployment on Canton’s DevNet, with two-thirds of the development network’s Super Validator nodes already running the release.
The October 6 deployment notice includes the Global Synchronizer Foundation’s own node among those upgraded. The release is available from the Foundation for other DevNet operators to deploy.
DevNet is Canton’s development environment. This rollout gives teams a place to work with the updated software, which supports the shared infrastructure connecting Canton applications.
One practical addition concerns wallet setup. Operators using Docker Compose can now deploy the Canton Wallet Gateway and Portfolio interface alongside their validator. The option prepares those installations for Splice 0.10.0, when the Wallet Gateway is set to become part of the default deployment.
Reward collection also changes. A delegate collecting rewards for another party can now collect that party’s Super Validator rewards alongside the other supported reward types. A separate fix prevents a delegate from including its own reward coupons in that arrangement.
For developers, the release removes several older interfaces and directs applications to their replacements. That includes older ways of retrieving holdings, initiating transfers and accessing governance tools.
The package also moves to Canton 3.6.1 and updates the protocol version used by the network. Teams preparing an upgrade can review the Splice 0.9.0 release notes for the configuration changes and migration steps that apply to their setup.
