C7 launches a searchable directory of Canton organisations

The public 7TRUST directory lets readers search by organisation, domain or Party ID and filter entries by credentials and network roles.

1 min read

C7 has launched a public Canton Network Directory, giving users a way to look up organisations and the Party IDs they use on the network. No login is required.

Visitors can search by organisation name, web domain or Party ID, then narrow the results by credential status, network role or service. That makes it easier to move from an unfamiliar identifier to an organisation’s directory entry.

The directory is part of 7TRUST, C7’s credential service for Canton. Its domain-verification process asks an organisation to prove control of a web domain, then links that domain to its Party ID through an on-chain credential.

Entries distinguish between listed organisations and those with DNS verification. The status is important: a directory listing and a verified domain are different levels of information.

Organisations can choose whether to appear publicly while retaining the ability to use their credentials for verification.
