A new Canton proposal would make it easier to see which organisations hold Super Validator reward rights and how those rewards are allocated.
Today, several rights holders can share one Super Validator node. Their combined weight appears on the ledger under the node operator, while the individual allocations and beneficiaries are managed in separate configurations.
The draft proposal would record those individual rights, weights and beneficiaries directly on the ledger. It also provides for displaying that information in Canton’s Scan interface and making it available to other tools.
Rights holders would be able to manage their own beneficiaries without asking the node operator to change its configuration. Changes to a holder’s reward weight would still require a Super Validator vote. Separate weight updates could proceed in parallel rather than waiting in a single queue.
The proposal preserves the existing reward system. Its focus is how allocations are recorded and administered, with implementation taking effect only after a migration is voted on and executed.
It remains a draft under review. Read the proposed changes.
