DLA Piper has joined the Canton Foundation, where one question facing its members is how an institution can move collateral while keeping its legal rights clear. Elsewhere on Canton, Cancore reported a new trading milestone, and a funding request from two developer teams went to a vote. They want to help reviewers decide when a grant milestone is ready for payment.
Why DLA Piper is joining
The Foundation named DLA Piper an Associate Member on November 2. It expects the law firm to contribute to its Collateral Subcommittee and to work on legal and regulatory standards. Collateral is an asset pledged to secure an obligation. For lenders, being able to move that asset between systems matters only if they can still establish who has a claim on it.
Cancore reports $100 million in trading volume
Cancore says trading volume has passed $100 million since its mainnet launch. CantonNews previously covered its $50 million cross-chain milestone. The new figure measures the cumulative value traded across the platform. Cancore lists six networks, including Canton and Ethereum, and gives no breakdown of how much each contributed.
A vote on software to help review grants
Obsidian Systems and FTP want to build an assistant that checks what a team submitted against what its grant promised. It would give reviewers a finding, with supporting evidence, for each requirement. A vote opened on their combined proposal. Committee members would still decide whether to accept the work.
Of the 2.4 million Canton Coin (CC) requested, 1.4 million would fund development. Up to 1 million more would be paid for reports reviewers mark useful. Maintenance would be funded separately.

IntellectEU signs off on Concordia’s voting tools
In a separate milestone review, IntellectEU signed off on Concordia’s third delivery. The tools help developers build votes where participants have different voting weights and a decision needs a minimum level of participation. They also let an application check that it is acting on the same contract the voters considered. The reviewer confirmed its acceptance of the work. The comment gives no payment date.
