Ekiden has added gold and silver markets on Canton, expanding its derivatives exchange into commodities for the first time. Gold trades as XAU/USDCx and silver as XAG/USDCx.
The markets have their own risk settings and trading schedule. They open at 6 p.m. on Sunday and close at 5 p.m. on Friday, New York time, with a daily break from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday through Thursday. They are not round-the-clock weekend markets.
Trading gold and silver earns a 2× XP multiplier throughout Ekiden’s closed MainNet phase. That is a points incentive, not a doubling of trading returns.
Access remains controlled. Ekiden’s September MainNet launch began with the top 100 traders from its testnet leaderboard, with more participants due to be admitted in waves. The metals announcement does not announce unrestricted public access.
Gold and silver broaden the choice of markets available to those participants. More metals, commodities, stocks and tokenized assets are on Ekiden’s roadmap, but no dates for those additions were included in this release.
