Obsidian has joined the Canton Foundation’s Collateral Subcommittee, chaired by DTCC. It will contribute to two of the group’s workstreams.

The subcommittee’s remit covers the standards, policies and operating frameworks that allow collateral to move across Canton. Obsidian Systems is already listed as a founding member of the Foundation; this announcement concerns its participation in the collateral group.

One workstream looks at using tokenized assets in repo and financing. The other concerns their acceptance by central counterparties and financial market infrastructures, including the systems that support clearing and settlement.
