Shinhan Asset Management, Mirae Asset Securities, KB Securities, Franklin Templeton and Fidelity were among the institutions represented at a private Canton-focused forum in Seoul.
Shinhan’s chief digital officer and new business team took part. In a discussion with Nodeinfra, the firm outlined a long-term Canton strategy covering Super Validator participation, tokenization of Korean assets and connections to global institutional markets.
The sessions examined the practical work behind those plans. Tiger Research covered preparations for Korea’s February 2027 token-securities framework. IBM addressed security, access permissions and integration with existing financial systems.
Noves CEO Ben Roy focused on turning Canton transaction data into records suitable for operations, reporting, audits and regulatory review, with traceability considered from the application-design stage.
The Canton Foundation, Tiger Research, IBM and Noves co-hosted the gathering. Discussion centred on privacy, internal controls and the commercial requirements for putting Canton into institutional use.
