Société Générale has cleared its first Canton milestone for accepting tokenized assets as collateral. Tokenomics approved the completion in its September 30 outcomes, recording July 15 as the delivery date.
The milestone concerns Société Générale Prime Services & Clearing. Under CIP-0115, the business must accept eligible Canton assets as collateral and complete at least one production transaction worth a minimum of $10 million.
Collateral is the property or financial assets a client pledges to meet an obligation. Accepting tokenized collateral gives those assets a use within an existing institutional service, beyond simply issuing or holding them on a blockchain.
CIP-0115 links Société Générale’s potential Super Validator rewards to specific delivery targets. Alongside collateral acceptance, the programme includes separate goals for repo transactions, adoption volumes and SG-FORGE stablecoins.
The latest outcome seeks a reward weight of two for the completed milestone and an acceleration bonus. Under the proposal’s rules, Super Validators must approve the subsequent reward and configuration steps.
