Temple’s trading engine has processed more than $1 billion in volume on Canton, reaching the milestone on September 30.
The figure measures the value of trades processed over time. It gives a cumulative view of activity, separate from daily trading volume or the value of assets deposited on the platform.
The milestone follows Lightspeed 2.0, an upgrade released the previous week. Temple’s matching engine, which pairs buy and sell orders, now has capacity for more than 85 million orders a day and an order-matching time of 3.6 milliseconds. Its stated settlement capacity is 29 times the previous level.
Those figures describe what the upgraded system can handle. The billion-dollar milestone measures trading already processed.
Temple plans to use the extra capacity to bring more assets, liquidity and trading accounts onto the platform during the fourth quarter.
