Utila has joined DTCC's industry working group on institutional tokenization, bringing its experience with Canton and digital asset operations into the discussions.

The DTCC Digital Assets Solutions Industry Working Group includes more than 100 firms from traditional finance and digital markets. Banks, asset managers, custodians, trading venues and technology companies are helping develop the processes around DTCC's tokenization service.

Utila's contribution centres on the practical decisions behind an asset transfer: who can initiate it, who must approve it and how the completed transaction is recorded. Those controls matter when institutions move tokenized assets for settlement, lending or collateral.

The company already supports Canton. Its December 2025 integration lets institutions manage supported Canton assets alongside other digital assets through the same interface, with access permissions and approval requirements.

Utila also connects token operations with existing business systems and keeps activity records for reporting and reconciliation. Its role in the group will draw on that experience, including how permitted destinations, required signers and completion records fit into a transaction.
