Cantex has passed $300 million in total trading volume on Canton, adding another $100 million since its previous milestone in August.
The October 1 update puts cumulative volume 50% above that earlier $200 million figure. Volume adds up the value of completed trades over time. It is separate from the amount of money held in the exchange’s pools.
Cantex uses those pools to let users exchange Canton assets without handing control of their funds to the platform. Both sides of a trade settle together, and transaction details are shared only with the parties that need to see them.
Users can also trade from compatible Canton wallets through Cantex Connect. They send a transfer with instructions naming the asset they want to receive, and a completed swap returns that asset to the same wallet. If the swap cannot be filled, the transfer stays pending and can be cancelled.
Connect supports more than 100 trading pairs, with completed swaps typically taking 10 to 15 seconds. That gives wallet providers and other Canton services a route into the exchange without building a separate trading integration.
