Canton Network had another active week across the parts of the ecosystem that matter most: institutional adoption, market infrastructure, token standards, DeFi, wallets and Featured App economics.
The institutional side remained the headline. At NGDA 2026 in Seoul, Digital Asset CEO Yuval Rooz argued that tokenization’s next phase is not just about putting individual assets onchain. It is about building coordinated markets, where assets, cash and collateral can move together across connected financial infrastructure.
That same idea showed up in live market activity. HIFI completed an onchain repo transaction with DRW on Canton, with Marex serving as prime broker. A repo is a short-term funding trade where one party borrows cash against collateral, often U.S. Treasuries. In this case, the transaction used Tradeweb RFQ pricing, U.S. Treasuries as collateral and USDCx for settlement.
The important part was not simply that repo touched blockchain rails. It was that the trade kept familiar institutional market structure in place while using Canton to settle cash and collateral at the same time.
Policy also became part of the week’s story. Grayscale named Canton Network among four blockchains it believes are best positioned to attract institutional capital if the CLARITY Act passes, alongside Ethereum, Solana and BNB Chain. The argument was straightforward: clearer rules could make it easier for institutions to participate in digital assets, and Canton’s design puts it directly in that conversation.
Canton Strategic had two public-market updates in the same week. The company said it is expected to join the Russell 3000 and Russell 2000 indexes after market close on June 26, 2026, following the latest Russell reconstitution. It also authorized a share repurchase program of up to $50 million in common stock.
On the protocol side, CIP-0112 and CIP-0119 were two of the most important technical updates.
CIP-0112 upgrades Canton’s core token standard. In simpler terms, it improves how assets can be issued, transferred and settled across the network. The upgrade adds privacy-enhanced batch settlement, support for traditional custody structures and more flexible trading workflows, while staying backwards compatible with the existing standard.
That matters because institutions often need assets to move through custodians, account keepers and regulated settlement venues. CIP-0112 makes that easier to support on Canton without forcing every application to rebuild around a new standard.
CIP-0119 solves a more practical onboarding issue. Before the change, new users could need Canton Coin to set up the transfer preapproval required to receive Canton Coin from an exchange. The proposal introduces a free 90-day base duration for transfer preapprovals, helping remove that first-entry friction.
Protocol 35 also moved forward, with the Canton Foundation confirming that it is live on TestNet and MainNet targeted for June 27. The upgrade remains one of the key infrastructure milestones to watch as Canton continues improving network operations.
Featured App economics were another major theme. Edel Finance locked 25 million $CC to maintain Featured App status. Nuxaris locked 5 million $CC in compliance with CIP-0116. OneSwap also locked 5 million $CC in compliance with CIP-0116, securing its Featured App status.
OneSwap had product momentum as well. The protocol went live inside Loop Wallet, allowing users to swap Canton assets directly inside the wallet. It also listed $HANDL, while HandlPay became the first payments application on Canton to integrate the OneSwap SDK. Together, those updates show native swaps becoming less of a standalone destination and more of a function that can live inside Canton apps.
HandlPay also expanded its bridge functionality by adding USDC support. Users can now move USDC between Base, Polygon and Canton directly inside the HandlPay app. For Canton, that gives retail users a simpler way to bring stablecoin liquidity into the network without leaving the app experience.
Ekiden added another piece to the market structure stack. The project launched on Canton testnet as the network’s first CLOB-based derivatives exchange. CLOB stands for central limit order book, which is the familiar order-book model used across many traditional and crypto trading venues. Ekiden is using that structure for derivatives on Canton, with API access, points, referrals and VIP programs already active. Several trading firms are integrated and actively quoting, with mainnet planned as part of the next rollout.
Hecto continued to stand out on the consumer side. Its Allocator product crossed 17,000 daily users, 18,000 $HECTO holders and more than 2.74 million $CC distributed. Built natively on Canton, Allocator gives users a daily, non-liquidating way to participate in prediction-style markets around major private companies such as OpenAI, SpaceX, Anthropic, ByteDance, Stripe and Databricks.
It is not ownership of those companies. It is a daily market around price movement and conviction. That distinction matters, but so does the traction. Hecto is one of the clearest examples of Canton infrastructure being used for a consumer-facing application, not only institutional settlement.
Temple was another strong activity signal. Over the past seven days, Temple drove more than 40% of Canton’s burn, with more than 200 million in volume crossed. The next question is whether more assets and liquidity follow, which would make Temple one of the key venues to watch for Canton-native market activity.
Canton’s institutional stablecoin and tokenized deposit narrative also continued building. Canton Network highlighted JPMorgan’s JPMD being natively issued on Canton, describing it as the broadest public deployment of a bank-issued deposit token to date. The network also pointed to tokenized deposits as a major institutional market, with RWA.io and Digital Asset contributing to research on bank liabilities moving onto private, programmable rails.
Taken together, the week showed Canton moving on several fronts at once. Institutional repo, bank-issued deposit tokens, protocol upgrades, Featured App lockups, wallet swaps, bridges, derivatives testnet activity and consumer applications all advanced in the same seven-day window.
That is the bigger story. Canton is not developing in one narrow lane. It is building market infrastructure, application utility and institutional connectivity at the same time.
