Greywick Digital is preparing to bring Litecoin to Canton as cLTC, with support from the Litecoin Foundation. The two organisations have signed a memorandum of understanding covering the planned asset.
The agreement recognises cLTC as the version of Litecoin on Canton that the Foundation will support for institutional trading and other financial products, including proposed yield-bearing uses. The Litecoin Foundation has also confirmed its endorsement.
Greywick is targeting a launch by the end of 2026. Work is underway on testnet, but cLTC will not go live until its reserve addresses, attestation format and launch sequence have been published. There is no exact launch date yet.
The reserve disclosures matter because cLTC is an asset issued on Canton, not Litecoin moving natively on its original network. Greywick’s model pairs issued assets with published reserves and independent verification of their backing. Those details are part of what still needs to be delivered before launch.
For Canton, the proposal would add a Litecoin-linked asset to its growing range of markets. The Foundation’s support and testnet work are confirmed; trading availability and any associated yield products remain ahead.
