Primus Labs and HashCloak have requested 1,303,500 CC from the Canton Development Fund to build tools for checking facts from private web data without exposing the underlying information.
The proposed 14-week project would let a Canton application check a mathematical proof rather than receive the original data. This could support financial or identity checks where the information behind a claim needs to remain confidential.
HashCloak would build the verification tools, while Primus would connect them to its existing system for generating proofs from web data. A working example would show developers how to use the result inside a Canton application.
The teams have worked together on private-data verification for Aztec. The Canton submission is a separate funding request, with its own development work and approval process.
The planned release includes open-source code, tests and documentation that other Canton builders could reuse. Funding would be paid in four instalments after the committee accepts each stage of the work.
Testing would establish how well the tools run on Canton and identify any practical limits.
The request remains open and has not received funding approval. The proposed Canton integration is not live.
