Edel has joined the DTC Digital Assets Solutions Industry Working Group, giving the Canton builder a role in shaping the DTCC Tokenization Service ahead of its expected launch later this year.

The team will contribute feedback alongside more than 100 other members. The group includes the New York Stock Exchange, BlackRock, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan and Citadel Securities, bringing together firms that trade, hold and manage financial assets with companies building digital infrastructure.

The service is designed to create tokenized versions of securities held at DTC, DTCC’s depository subsidiary. Participating firms can move those assets between traditional and blockchain-based forms while retaining the ownership rights and investor protections attached to the underlying securities.

DTCC is targeting an October 2026 launch. On July 15, it processed production trades using tokenized DTC-held assets, with digital conversions taking place on Canton and its private Besu network. More than 30 firms took part in activity that included securities lending, using assets as collateral and Treasury repo trades.

Edel is developing infrastructure for tokenized equities, with its Canton-based Edel Markets platform still listed as coming soon.
