Users can now move $USDC to-and-from Canton Network without leaving the Handlpay app, increasing retail access and consumer payment functionality on Canton.
HandlPay has expanded its native bridge to support $USDC, letting users move the stablecoin to/from Base or Polygon, and Canton Network directly inside the app. The bridge already supported $HANDL-$USDC, this is the latest addition, with more tokens being added soon.
The update is a small piece of a larger thesis. Canton Network is known for its institutional-grade infrastructure for regulated finance, yet the retail facing side of the chain remains largely undeveloped. HandlPay is hopping on that opportunity by developing products that make it easier for regular people to send and receive money on Canton.
"Consumer Canton starts here," is how the team frames it, and the bridge is a concrete expression of that. Most stablecoin activity today still lives on EVM chains like Base and Polygon. For Canton to matter to everyday users, value has to be able to flow in and out easily. A native bridge that handles the routing, rather than asking users to navigate external bridge interfaces, lowers that barrier.
For HandlPay users, the mechanics are straightforward. From the Polygon or Base tabs in the app, a user selects the asset, selects the bridge button, enters an amount, and confirms.
About the product: HandlPay turns social media usernames and WhatsApp numbers into private payment handles, letting people receive stablecoins without sharing wallet addresses or personal details. The platform has onboarded more than 360,000 social accounts and processed over $50 million in transactions. The app runs on Canton Network for transaction privacy alongside EVM chain support.
$USDC support is live now. Support for additional tokens is planned
