P2P Company has applied for Featured App status on Canton for its live escrow service, which supports trades of Canton Coin, CBTC and cETH.

The platform gives people a way to buy or sell these assets directly with another person, using stablecoins or local currency for payment. Its first customers are members of the Canton community.

A seller places the asset in P2P Company’s escrow. The buyer then pays the seller directly, using the agreed payment method. Once the seller authorizes release, the asset moves from escrow to the buyer’s Canton address. Sellers pay a 0.25% fee in the asset being traded.

P2P Company manages the escrow and handles disputes through human review. A reviewer checks the trade record and evidence from both parties before deciding whether to release the asset to the buyer or return it to the seller. Payments made outside the platform cannot be reversed by P2P Company.

The service runs on the company’s own Canton MainNet validator. Its application requests an exception to the requirement to operate on MainNet for at least 14 days, having already completed real trades before reaching that threshold.

Featured App rewards would help cover network and infrastructure costs and fund further work on its markets and dispute handling. The reward-tracking features are still to be implemented, and the business plans to continue operating on trading fees while it seeks approval.
