Tradeweb earned $1.4 million from Canton validator services in the three months to September 30, down from $2.3 million in the same quarter of 2025. Over the first nine months, the trend ran the other way: the October 29 quarterly filing shows revenue rose to $6.8 million from $4.4 million.
What counts as validator revenue?
Tradeweb helps run Canton infrastructure and earns Canton Coin (CC) for that work. It records the value of coins earned as revenue. That figure says how much the service earned during a period; it does not tell readers how much cash Tradeweb received from selling coins.

The distinction matters after the coins arrive. Changes in their market value affect the accounts separately. Tradeweb reported an unrealized loss of $24 million on CC in the quarter. An unrealized loss reflects a change in the value of coins held; it is a different measure from the $1.4 million earned for validation.
How much of the holding was restricted?
At September 30, Tradeweb reported about 1.6 billion CC with a fair value of $207.5 million. Of that holding, 1.3 billion CC, valued at $163.7 million, were subject to transfer restrictions.
The filing for the quarter ended June 30 already showed 1.3 billion restricted coins, then valued at $181.6 million. The new disclosure updates the valuation. It does not describe a fresh purchase of 1.3 billion CC, and the rounded quantities alone cannot establish all trading activity between the two dates.
Tradeweb had already identified validation as a contributor to first-quarter digital asset revenue. With two more quarters on record, readers can now see both the year-to-date increase in earnings and the effect of revaluing the coins Tradeweb kept.
