Selay has introduced Watcher, a free lookup tool for checking a Canton project before connecting a wallet or approving a transaction.
Users can search by website address, project name or Canton Party ID, the identifier for a party participating on the network. Watcher presents the project's tier, its operator and supporting on-chain evidence together. The lookup does not require a login or a wallet connection.
The tool focuses on identity: whether an application has a Canton presence and whether a website belongs to the project it claims to represent. Someone arriving through an unfamiliar link can check the domain before going further, while a Party ID provides another way to look up the participant behind an interaction.
Selay has released Watcher as a minimum viable product, an early version open to testing and feedback. Its launch announcement asks users to flag incorrect information through the Report option.
